Welcome Pediatrician, Dr Janet Levatin to Cleveland

Tenpenny Integrative Medical Center (TIMC) is pleased to announce the upcoming arrival of Janet Levatin, MD who will be joining our team in early November.

Dr. Janet is a holistic pediatrician and homeopathic physician who has had a private practice in the Boston, Massachusetts area for the past 25 years. Although she has lived in the East, her roots are in the Midwest. She was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. She is happy to be returning to the Midwest and is thrilled to be joining TIMC.

Dr. Janet went to college at the University or Rochester (NY), majoring in English and psychology. She excelled at biology and neuropsychology, which led her to choose medicine as her career path. She attended the George Washington University School of Medicine, graduating in 1982, and completed a pediatric internship and residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1986.

Throughout her training, Dr. Janet disagreed with much of what she observed in the conventional medical world. She saw that medications were overused, nutrition in hospital settings was unwholesome, and that true prevention and health maintenance were virtually nonexistent. She observed more than one case of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) after infant vaccination, and has spoken out against the over-vaccination of children since the 1980s.

Due to her disappointment with the limits of conventional medicine, she began a quest to discover better ways of assisting patients with healing and health maintenance. She learned about midwifery/home birth, chiropractic, oriental medicine, nutrition, herbalism, and more. Ultimately, she settled on homeopathy as her primary treatment modality. She received much of her homeopathic training through Luminos Homeopathic Courses, Ltd., one of the world’s premier homeopathy training programs; and was certified as a Homeopathic Master Clinician more than 10 years ago. Homeopathy is nontoxic, appropriate for all ages, easy to administer, and often works especially well for conditions where conventional medicine has failed.

Over the years Dr. Janet has treated children and adults of all ages for a host acute and chronic conditions including asthma, eczema, allergies, ADHD, ear infections, gastrointestinal disorders, sleep disorders, teething, and psychological and behavioral imbalances. Starting with prenatal consultations about infant health, she has assisted many families in raising healthy children through natural childbirth, breastfeeding, and a limited use of pharmaceuticals.

In addition to homeopathy, Dr. Janet incorporates herbs, common-sense nutrition, and supplements into her therapeutic regimens. She has found that much healing can be accomplished with the use of homeopathy, appropriate nutrition, and supplement regimens that include simple yet vital nutrients such as vitamin D, iodine, and trace minerals. She regularly refers children for chiropractic, craniosacral, allergy elimination, and other modalities and strongly recommends breast thermography and acupuncture for her adult patients.
