The other day I heard a radio talk show about our healthcare system in the US and how costs were escalating and escalating. The host and guests were discussing how to bring costs under control and what type of system could lower costs, especially the costs of insurance premiums for our citizens.
It is not so difficult to see why costs have spiraled out of control. If we want lower costs, we need healthier people. If we want healthier people, we need to eliminate or decrease the things that are making people sick, and thus more expensive to care for.
I felt compelled to email the host of the talk show with some of my thoughts, and I will share them here as well.
There are a couple of massive elephants in the room which have to do why “health” care (in reality it is sick care) has gotten so expensive and why NO proposed system will be financially workable…. unless some major changes are made in our society.
1. We have to come to grips with the fact that much of what is called “food” in this country is really junk and completely unhealthy. What we call “food” is loaded with sugar, processed carbohydrates, genetically modified ingredients, pesticides, toxin-laden animal products, and more. These “foods” are consumed by almost everyone in this country, starting in the first months of life, even in the first days of life if you count the horrible infant formulas on the market. This junk called “food” leads to a long list of chronic health problems that are expensive to treat. How can we have an affordable health care system when people are being poisoned by what they eat?
2. Our system relies on treating illness with expensive pharmaceuticals that are way overprescribed. The US, with about 5% of the world population, uses a staggering 65-70% of the drugs. Most drugs have side effects leading to more symptoms and then more drugs to treat the side effects. Medication use can even lead to death. Obviously the more costly drugs we use, the more expensive our health care system will be. It does not take a genius to identify this vicious circle.
3. The other massive elephant in the room that no one in conventional medicine or the conventional media will touch, in fact are largely not allowed to talk about, is that fact that vaccines are poisoning people. Since the 1990s we have been vaccinating humans starting on the first day of life. Before that it was at 2 months of age; before that it was in the childhood years. Now there is a push to vaccinate pregnant women, so we’re effectively vaccinating babies before they are born. Vaccines contain toxic ingredients that disrupt the normal functioning of the immune system and nervous system, a fact that the conventional medical establishment categorically denies. This truth is published in numerous places, however; these days, you don’t have to look hard to find it.
Since we are poisoning infants with a long list toxins starting at the beginning of life, of course they will be sick and require expensive medical care, possibly more than $1,000,000 in their lifetimes for those with serious conditions such as cancer or autism spectrum disorders.
Much the same type of poisoning is being done to elders with vaccines for flu, shingles, “pneumonia,” and the 10 other vaccines currently approved for adults and given at the discretion of people’s doctors. Actually, people at every age are being poisoned with flu shots, as they are recommended annually from infancy until one’s last year of life. The exceptions, of course, are those of us who know enough to say NO to this madness.
Health care costs will continue to spiral out of control and NO system will ever be affordable while these heinous practices continue. It’s time to acknowledge the elephants in the room and take the necessary steps to remove them.
